Tiger Woods When Will He Play Again

More than a year since he was seriously injured in a car accident, Tiger Woods made his much-anticipated return to the PGA Tour at the Masters. Besides showing everyone how far he had come since the February 2021 accident that nearly cost him his leg, Woods also was playing in his first tournament on tour in nearly 18 months. And while the five-time Masters champion didn't add to his major victory total of 15, he made the cut and showed glimpses of the old Tiger along the way, much to the delight of all the patrons at Augusta National on top of the millions watching on TV.
Woods started with a one-under 71 on Thursday and followed that up with a two-over 74 on Friday to make the cut. In extremely windy conditions on Saturday, Woods like most of the field struggled and he finished with a six-over 78, his worst round ever in Masters competition. The physical toll was obvious, as Woods' limp increased with each round, and he ended the tournament with another 78 to finish at 13-over, 47th among the 52 golfers that made the cut. Scottie Scheffler, the current No. 1-ranked player in the world, won with a score of 10-under for his first major. Despite the outcome, Woods received plenty of praise for his comeback and said he was "grateful" for the opportunity to compete in the Masters.
After he was finished on Sunday, Woods also announced that he was definitely planning on playing in the upcoming British Open, which will take place July 14-17 at St. Andrews in Scotland, and was hoping to be able to compete at both the PGA Championship (May 19-22, Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma) and U.S. Open (June 16-19, The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.). So the good news for golf fans across the globe is that Woods is not planning on being one-and-done in 2022.

So whether he's ready to go for the PGA Championship in May or it won't be until July when we see him back on the course in an official event again, the 46-year-old, 15-time major champion will resume his pursuit of breaking a tie with Sam Snead for the most career PGA Tour wins and closing the gap between him and Jack Nicklaus for the most major championships.
(UPDATED April 14)
When is Tiger Woods' next tournament? Here's how his 2021-22 PGA Tour schedule could shape up.
• After gutting through the Masters with yet another made cut (24th of his career) but his worst score (+13) and finish (47th) in his career, Woods would only commit to playing in the upcoming British Open (July 14-17), which will be played on the Old Course at St. Andrews, the "home of golf," and a course he was won the major on twice (2000, '05).
• Woods also said he was hopeful that he would be able to compete at both the PGA Championship, which is scheduled for May 19-22 at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the U.S. Open (June 16-19, The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.), but he wasn't ready to fully commit to either major. It sounds that Woods will be even more selective than usual when it comes to the events he will compete in, as he looks to continue his miraculous recovery and take care of his body so that he can contend in the tournaments that mean the most to him.
• On April 14 it was reported that Woods has committed to playing in the JP McManus Pro-Am at Adare Manor in Limerick, Ireland, from July 4-5. This event takes place 10 days before the start of the British Open. While not a PGA Tour event, the fact that Woods has already committed to this pro-am, which isn't too far from Scotland where the British Open will take place, signifies he is serious about teeing it up for at least two majors this year.
